Canadian man runs 800 miles to fight diabetes

Cole Choken watched his grandfather suffer from diabetes and decided that the disease wouldn’t be a part of his future, not whether he had any say in it besides. So the 300+ pound 21-year-old began eating right and exercising, losing 100 pounds. But he didn’t stop there, he recently completed an 800-mile run across a section of Canada to raise money for the Canadian Diabetes organization. And you know what? He says he’s ready to do it again. Choken said:

“I never thought I could do it. But you put your intellect to it, you can do anything you want.”

So whether you’re looking for some motivation that Monday dawn, look no farther than our neighbor

to the north. You can do anything you put your intellect to — Choken started with a jog that was less than a few blocks expanded — you just have to get up and do it.
