Dump the extreme diet, working out till you can’t stand it any more and all the other tortures we submit ourselves to. Your kitchen cupboard may already hold the secret to your extra weight falling away! Cider vinegar. Odd I know but it may just be what you’ve been missing. Never expected that one, right? I know I sure didn’t when I first heard of it. Tests and studies have tried to determine why it works, but so far…no one has been able to prove anything. It’s one of those things that has been around and working for so long, that people just do it for that reason alone. There are tons of theories as to why it works. I believe, as do many others that cider vinegar is one of the foods that speed up metabolism. It boosts your bodies ability to digest and turn food into energy. Some think that the cider vinegar itself burns the calories in your body. Burned calories don’t get converted to fat – ergo, weight loss. Cleansing the liver is another popular idea. Your liver is an organ that can have a huge impact on your weight loss efforts. According to a recent study, cider vinegar ingested just before a meal will make you feel fuller. Thereby eating less and losing weight. The study was a small one and more work has to be done, but the results are encouraging. One of the best tests of the usefulness of an idea is time. Is this just another fad diet idea? Will this concept fade away in a few months…like most of the others? Cider vinegar as a diet supplement – one of those foods that speed up metabolism – has traced back to and has been in use since the ancient Egyptians! You can’t get much further away from a fad than that! The simplest and most inexpensive way to add cider vinegar into your weight loss regimen is to just add some to a glass of water or

put a little into a glass of juice. Then drink it down either with or before your meal. You could also get commercially made tablets and capsules. As one of the foods that speed up metabolism they still work and generally include other nutrients as well. They frequently have vitamin B6 and lecithin. They may actually have as much or more impact on your weight loss as the cider vinegar. Your health food store can provide them or a quick search online will find several sources. It’s not just a great weight loss product, it’s good for you too! It can help with medical problems and your general overall health. As a bonus, it includes several vitamins and minerals and it would be worth the effort to include this in your general diet…even if you don’t have any desire to lose weight. In addition to being used as one of the foods that speed up metabolism, it’s been known to help with diabetes, arthritis pain, digestion and sore throats. it contains potassium which helps lower blood pressure and fiber which absorbs the cholesterol that causes heart problems. As with anything else…there are some risks. It works very well as one of the foods that speed up metabolism but you have to watch out for it’s acidity. If undiluted, it can burn and damage your teeth, throat and mouth. You MUST dilute it in juice or water.
