Is The Obesity Epidemic Overstated?

The debate by whether or not we are actually too obese continues in arecent commentary published in BMJ. ResearchersPatrick Basham and John Luik preserve that current scientific evidenceis too uncertain to conclude that obesity is an epidemic. In the UnitedStates, the average population increase in weight by the past 42years is 10.9 kg, or 0.26 kg per year.
