New York City is again trying to get calories listed on menus

Those New Yorkers just won’t stop, it seems, when it comes to trying to get calorie counts listed on area restaurant menus. After the effort fizzled that summer, it’s now back.

NYC health officials have indicated that they are ready to revive efforts to have caloric knowledge listed on all restaurant menus in order to give patrons informed data about the products they are eating.

Logistically speaking, that has to be tough to do. From an informed consumer perspective, I believe that effort to be worth everything. We can’t produce decisions without all relevant info at hand, and every

day we eat out, we’re eating in the dark (so to speak).
