‘No such thing’ as a detox?

Have you ever considered a ‘detox’ diet (or weekend, heh) that would purge your system of unwanted junk? Even increasingly, were you able to lose a substantial amount of weight from using detox methods? I have, although staying detoxed using healthy eating and drinking is now a lifestyle choice.

But, do detox diets actually work within the goal framework of getting someone to lose weight and keep it off? Dietitian Joanna McMillan-Price says that, “really there is no such thing as a detox” — but do you agree?

McMillan correctly points out that the liver continually detoxes the body besides, so what are you really accomplishing with a detox diet? Probably

nothing, she concluded. But, whether you feel better after detoxing yourself, there’s nothing wrong with that at all. Jettisoning poor food and beverage choices is always a good thing.
